Taraba School of Nursing Begin May

Acting governor of Taraba State, Alhaji Garba Umar, at the weekend said the state’s school of nursing and midwifery will commence full academic activities in May.

Umar, who disclosed this while inspecting facilities at the school’s site, expressed satisfaction with the quality of work.

Our correspondent reports that activities at the school were suspended about ten years ago by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria over lack of adequate facilities.

Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health and Human Services in the state, Dr Philip Duwe, said work on the project is expected to be completed in April.

Umar had earlier inspected facilities at the Jolly Nyame Stadium in continuation of his projects inspection and commissioning tour which was flagged off on Thursday.

The acting governor has so far inspected and inaugurated projects in four out of the 16 local government areas in the state and he is expected to visit the remaining ones in the coming days.
