Police Invade Osun Polytechnic in Reprisal Attack

Reports emanating from our correspondents in the Igbajo Polytechnic, Osun state has it that nothing less than 10 students of the institution has been hospitalized after members of the police, dressed in black allegedly attacked the school. 

It was reported that the students on campus were writing their exams, when the policemen stormed the school premises and tear-gassed the campus around 10 am on Friday, 11th May, 2018.

Our reporters learnt that prior to this attack, some unknown students of the polytechnic went into the town, attacked and burnt down the Igbajo Police Station.

A student of the school, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said a simple situation that was badly managed by the police led to the riot.

He explained that three students were still in a coma, adding that two others were unaccounted for.

He said, “There has been a misunderstanding between the management of the school and the rector. The rector has also been facing hard times from the students, who have refused to allow him to take any courses.
