The story continues for current serving corps members across the states of the Federation, as earlier reported that a number of the serving members of the NYSC have not received their April earnings, but still continue to work diligently, for “service and Humility” like the motto goes.

However, Things took a different turn for Some members of the National Youth Service Corps in Nasarawa State who have decided to stay away from their various service posts over the non-payment of the said April allowance.

According to a source of the Daily Trust, the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) is yet to pay the April allowance nationwide.
A corps member, who pledged anonymous reported, “We cannot continue like this, we don’t even have money to transport ourselves to work. For about two weeks now, I have been borrowing money to transport myself to work.”
She also disclosed that, she along with her other members did not report for duty last week, “This week too, we are going to stay at home. We understand several other corps members are no longer going to work because they don’t have transport fare,” she said.

Another corps member, who is also serving in a government office in Lafia, revealed thus, “I went to work last week, but I can’t continue like this. I will report for work today, but by tomorrow, I will join my colleagues who have stopped reporting for work.”

We plead with the federal government to come into the matter and do something to salvage the situations.
