No Reduction, No Resumption: AAUA SUG, State Gov To Meet 6th June.

The Leadership of the Student Union Government, SUG of the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA), the Authorities of the University, as well as the state Government has been locked in a brawl over the school fees payable by students of the institution for the past 2 months.

The SUG Leadership, has maintained her stance on her No Reduction, No Resumption policy, and are not willing to shift grounds on what they term “an insensitive Increase from N23,000 to N150,000”.

This has led to multiple protest against the leadership of the University and the State Government, in the State Capital two weeks ago.

On Monday, the 27th of May, 2019, the Leadership of the Union met with the Deputy Governor, and other Officials of the state, representing the governor on the matter, but the meeting ended in deadlock. Read that here.

However, according to a statement by the Public Relations Officer of the Student Union, the meeting was fruitful, albeit, inconclusive. He stated that Mr. Governor was briefed about the meeting and he will love to have the full house in the next meeting including the Vc’s and Governing council of both institutions.

At the end of the meeting, there was solid agreement that the comprehensive meeting will hold to make final resolutions next week, Thursday, 6th June, 2019.

We remain confident that soon, there would be smiles on the Faces of AAUA Students..
