MULTI-CAMPUS UNIVERSITY TO BE BUILT IN NIGERIA(JESUIT)

This friday, the 6th of July 2012 would mark the setting of a new record, as the Loyola Jesuit College, launch a fund raising dinner for the establishment of the First Multi-Campus University in Africa, which would be known as the Loyola Jesuit University(LJU).

According to Very Reverend Father Jude Odiaka, the provincial superior of the ANW Jesuit, LJU will become the first Jesuit University in Africa.

He disclosed exclusively that the university will be a multi-campus institution having its;
• School of Business Management and Social Sciences in Ogbere, Ogun State,
• the School of Agriculture and Veterinary Science in Ewatto, Edo State; and
• the School of Engineering and Applied Natural Sciences in Ngor Okpala, Imo State.

This would be among the few Universities in the world to have different campuses in different states or countries.

The University of Nigeria, Nsukka(UNN) holds that record in Nigeria, before her Calabar campus, was made the University of Calabar(UNICAL).

A number of top Insividuals, including the Former Secretary-General of Commonwealth, Chief Emeka Anyaoku, Professor Pat Utomi and Abike Dabiri-Erewa will be among the dignitaries that will grace the fund raising dinner which will be held on Friday, July 6, 2012, at the Muson Centre, Onikan, Lagos.
