>Minister reveals Government commitment to Tertiary Institutions

>A state made by the minister for education, professor Ruqayyatu rufai reveals the Federal government are willing to stick by any decision it made with the Academic staff union of Universities and other allied unions of tertiary Institutions in the country while at the same time, thanking the union for understanding the situation of the government and calling of their two months strike Action.

She also thanked the presidency for his understanding and support towards Education in Nigeria.

On the issue of raising the 100bn which was promised to universities in their agreement with the union, the Minister said; Tertiary Education Trust Fund(TETF), Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation(NNPC), Central bank of Nigeria and from the ICT intervention from the ministry of communication and its parastatals.

With this statement, we believe that we could study in peace without issues for a considerable period of time.
