The Authorities of the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, AAUA has announced that there would be an extension in the ongoing mid-semester break of the University.

In a Statement Signed by the University Registrar, Mr. Opeoluwa Akinfemiwa, the University senate has directed that the Mid-semester break be postponed till further notice. A new resumption date would be announced later.

Student Union Insists on No Reduction, No Resumption.

Despite the announcement however, the Leadership of the Student union Government has made her stance clear on the issue of fee reduction for students of the University. The Union maintains that the Students of the University would not resume without a reduction in the current school fees being paid by students, which they described as very high. A publication by the SUG PRO of the University, Comr. David Babalola reads as follows;

As per the resumption or no resumption issue, we have made our stands known to Nigerian Students as of the general circular released from the AAUASU Secretariat on Saturday, 11th May, 2019 that we are strongly against resumption without reduction of our tution fee, more so, video clips attesting to the no reduction, no resumption policy by the students union members have been released twice, first, Friday, 10th May, 2019 and the most recent one, that is, the second released, yesterday, 14th May 2019. Therefore, we beseech you to take instructions whatsoever from the students’ union leaders in which you have entrusted with your mandates. Facts and authentic information will be communicated to you about the resumption as at when due.

Greatest Nigerian students! note that the gentility of a lion doesn’t mean timidity, if mr governor doesn’t reason along with us after consolidating processes, which will be exhausted in no time then we will be forced to take actions(confrontation)

It’s at this juncture I implore you that you should keep calm and adhere strictly to the students’ union leaders instructions which you have enthused with your mandates

The Union Leaders has insisted on No Reduction, No Resumption.

We’d be on ground to keep you updated as the events unfolds.

    We students of Aaua are standing by the Student union words.

    We are not resuming without reduction.

    The tuition fee we are paying in AAUA is outrageous.
