The Students are expected to proceed on a month holiday on October 26, 2013 to resume on 30thNovember, 2013.
Students who just finished their first semester examination while speaking to the Media Unit of the school, expressed satisfaction over the way academic exercises have been conducted. They also commended the efforts of lecturers for preparing them well for the examination noting that standards were not compromised.
According to one of the students, Miss Angel Igochi Onoevulo, Microbiology Department, “The exam was not tough, they just tested us on everything they taught us in the class, they did not go out of the scheme of work, most of the questions asked were used as examples during lectures” she said. She further commended the lecturers for their efforts, “Our lecturers were always there for us, and we have a mutual relationship with our lecturers, they always care for us like we are there children.
For Adekemi Morufu Karimot also of Microbiology Department, “The exam went on fine, lecturers really tried by setting what they taught us in class”.
Another student from Department of Chemistry, Isirima Bestman Ikenna on his part said, “Our exam was cool, what we were expecting was set, before the exam, I was afraid because this was my first exam in the University, but I relaxed as soon as I saw the question paper because the questions are familiar to me”.
Miss Chidinma Ikenna in Accountancy Department had this to say,” I am optimistic that I will pass with good grades because everything I studied was set in the exams, It has been nice so far, am going to make it because I prepared very well for the exam, all thanks to my lecturers”.
While commenting on the conduct of the examination, Dean Faculty of Science, Prof. Bio Nyanayo commended the Lecturers and supervising invigilators who he said worked hard to ensure the success of the academic exercise.
According to Prof. Bio, “The lecturers did a thorough job to prepare the students psychologically and otherwise to face their first semester examination squarely”. He further stated that, “The lecturers gave them series of tests in order to prepare them ahead of the exams, they even administered impromptu quizzes. All these were geared towards helping them brace up to the challenges that may arise during the examination.
The Second set of students of Federal University Otuoke who started the Semester in August 2013, finished their exams on Friday 25th October, 2013. The Students are expected to proceed on a month holiday on October 26, 2013 to resume on 30thNovember, 2013.
