ASUU STRIKE, A Blessing In Disguise To Nigerian Students- Obasi

In this post, Mr. Obasi Chinedu of VNTI outlines reasons why he feels the ongoing strike action by the Academic Staff Union of Nigerian Universities(ASUU) could be a blessing in Disguise to affected Nigerian students.

Read Below:

It is true ASUU is on strike
You have no control over it
However, you have control over how you spend your time
Make the best use of it

You complain they don’t teach practicals in school
This is an opportunity for you to get practical skill outside the classroom

You complain of no working experience after school
This is an avenue for you to volunteer for experience while in school

If you don’t have sponsor
This is a time to do one or two business pending resumption
If you don’t have time to plan your life

This is the opportunity to lock yourself in the room and brainstorm
Make it count!

It is not a time to be a spectator
Watching season film all day
Or gisting and sleeping away the future

Its time for work outside the classroom
Its time for strategizing
It’s over a month the strike began
What value have you added to yourself?

You can blame government for their failure
But you can’t afford not to do your part
Remember, it is your life
Challenges can be turned to blessing if well utilized
