Kwara State University, KWASU 2012/2013 Convocation Holds 7th June

The Kwara State University will hold her 2nd convocation ceremony for the 2012/2013 Graduands on June 7, 2014. The KWASU convocation ceremony which hopes to draw people fro various spheres of life and the public as a whole will hold in the KWASU Convocation Arena, Malete at 10:00a.m.

The Programme of Events are as follows:

1.Tuesday, 3rd June, 2014
VICE-CHANCELLOR’S PRESS BRIEFING
Venue: Council Chamber, Kwara State University, Malete
Time:10.00a.m.

2.Wednesday, 4th June, 2014
Convocation Drama
Venue: KWASU Auditorium
Time: 2:00 p.m.

3.Thursday, 5th June, 2014
Convocation Lecture
Guest Lecturer: Professor Olabiyi Yai (Former Permanent Representative of the Republic of Benin to UNESCO, Internationally known Scholar and Critical Thinker).
Topic:‘’Orientation; Lost and Found’’
Venue: KWASU Auditorium
Time: 4:00p.m. – 5:00p.m.

4.Friday, 6th June, 2014
Convocation Dinner
Venue: State Banquet Hall, Ahmadu Bello Way, Ilorin
Time: 7:00 p.m.

5. Saturday, 7th June, 2014
Convocation Ceremony and Conferment of Degrees
Venue: Convocation Arena, KWASU, Malete
Time: 10:00 a.m.

All Guests are expected to be seated by 9:30 a.m.

BRIEF FOR GRADUANDS

(i) All prospective graduands for the 2013/2014 Academic Session are requested to check their names on the list to be displayed on the University website: www.kwasu.edu.ng.

(ii) Each graduands shall be allowed a maximum of two (2) guests. The invitation cards will be issued as from Tuesday, 3RD June 2014 when academic gowns will be available for collection.

(iii) All prospective graduands are expected to pay the sumof N8,500.00 (Eight Thousand, Five Hundred Naira)for the under listed items, irrespective of whether or not they attend the Convocation Ceremony:

a) Academic Gown;
b) Order of Proceedings;
c) Certificate scroll;
d) Alumni fees etc.

(iv) A refundable security deposit of N4000.00 (Four Thousand Naira)will also be paid for the Academic gown.
(v) Order of Proceedings, Certificate scrolls and Certificates will be available for collection immediately after the Convocation Ceremony at the various Colleges on presentation of evidence of payment of appropriate fees and clearance certificate.

(vi) Graduands are expected to attend a Convocation Rehearsal for Academic Procession which will hold at 4.00 p.m. on Thursday, 4th June 2014 at the University Convocation Arena.
(vii) It is compulsory for all graduands who will attend the Convocation Ceremony to participate in the Academic Procession and be garbed in the approved academic outfits.
(viii) Graduands are expected to be formally dressed in full English wear i.e. Suit (Shirt, tie and jacket for men) and Skirt suit/ Skirt and blouse or gown for Ladies) or full national dress.
(ix) Graduands are expected to be on the Campus by 7.00 a.m. on Saturday, 7th June, 2014 for the Procession which will start from the Administration Building at 8:00a.m prompt. Any graduand who comes late will not be allowed into the Convocation Arena.
(x) All academic gowns should be returned by graduands to their respective College Officers not later than Friday, 13th June, 2014. Gowns returned after that date will attract a fine of Two-Hundred Naira (N200.00) only per day.
(xi) Graduands should visit the University’s website for details on mode of payment of Convocation fees.
