Our Engineering Programmes Are The Best- FUTMINNA VC!

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Musbau Adewumi Akanji,FNSBMB,has reiterated the institution’s glowing prowess in the field of engineering by stating that its engineering programmes are the best in Nigeria based on facilities, quality of faculty staff, research and content.

The VC made this known recently when he received the executive members of Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) Minna Branch, who paid him a courtesy call on Tuesday, July 29, 2013 at the Council Chamber, MainCampus.

Prof. Akanji said that the institution’s Engineering programmes have been adjudged as the best by National Universities Commission(NUC)and Council for the Registration of Engineering in Nigeria(COREN)with full accreditation status.

“In recognition of our strength in engineering courses, the institution has been approached through the Federal Executive Council to assist University of Abuja Engineering students to complete their studies”, Prof. Akanji added.

Prof. Akanji told the delegation to identify the areas of partnership with the University and assured them of Management’s support towards promoting engineering profession in the country.

He also congratulated NSE President, Engr. Hassan Chado on his well deserved appointment as the General Manager of Niger State Water Boardand wished him well.

Speaking earlier, the NSE President, Engr. Chado who thanked the VC and his Management team for making out time to receive them, despite their tight schedule said the purpose of the visit was to meet with the University Management and to solicit for strong partnership with the institution through its School of Engineering and Engineering Technology(SEET)in the area of workshops, conferences and other areas that would benefit both parties.

He commended the institution for the quality of its engineering graduates which according to him are contributing greatly in various sectors of the country development and urged the VC to support more of its members who are staff of the University in attending workshops that would enhancetheir skills.
