Breaking News: ASUU commences Nationwide strike today, 1st July, 2013!!

The latest report reaching us is that The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has commenced indefinite strike nationwide today, 1st July, 2013 national president of ASUU, Dr Nasir Isa Fagge has said.

Dr Nasir made this declaration, on Monday, at the University of Lagos (UNILAG) after their NEC meeting held at Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye, Ogun State.
while speaking with news men, he said:“We are embarking on indefinite strike nation wide because the Federal Government reneged in the Memorandum of Understanding MoU signed with ASUU in 2009 to pay lecturers their earn allowance.”

According to Dr Nasir Isa, the Federal Government, in 2009 made a law to pay each lecturers N12,500 per month as earn allowance which it never did since 2009.

    The most affected group of people in this unreasonable series of strikes by ASUU are the student directly who happend to loss valuable time, days, months and years for these lectures self-fish agenda. It’s time a revolution start by the students now and concern citizens, b’cos this can still affect our children and and generations to come…am calling on all bodies, NGO, Social networks/bloggers, Concerned citizen, STUDENTS and parents let wage a protest with one voice and mind to insist for a permenet change.     Dis ASSU will not allow us 2 graduate. We C̶̲̥̅̊​A̶̲̥̅N̶̲̥̅̊’t tell d number of yrs we have lost 2 strike alone. Ɣ wud a small amount like 12500 hold d entire nigerian student 2 ransome. Wat a shame.
