THEME: Educating the nursing and midwifery workforce for tomorrow: opportunities and challenges in the sub region
The Biennial General Meeting and Scientific session of the west african college of nursing will offer opportunities for fellows of the college, other nurses and midwives from the sub region and beyond to come together to share experiences, innovations in education and practise, and evidence from practise. The week will aslo feature meetings of the college and the constituent faculties where members will share on their experience in the past biennuim. The Scientific session will feature keynote and plenary sessions with invited speakers, and concurrent sessions from a wide selection of accepted abstracts.
CALL FOR ABSTRACTS
Abstracts are invited for you to share your ideas, research and new knowledge in the concurrent sessions that will explore the themes and subthemes of the meeting. The submissionshould relate to one of the themes, and show a link with the main theme.
The abstracts will provide the scientific committee with opportunity to make informed choice of abstracts suitalbe for presentation. it will also provide participants at the program of written material to support the presentations.
ABSTRACT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:
In order to faciltate the process of selecting and processing abstracts, we require the following information from all the authors. where there is more than one author, the presenting author information will be required. you are encouraged to submit your abstract online at www.wacn-online.comby friday 28 sept 2012
Authors of successful abstracts will be notified by monday 22 october 2012
The abstract, which should be concise and precise, should contain the title of paper, type of presentation, aim,a nd abstract of not more than 300 words. there should be at least two learing outcomes/ objectives. A short professional biography of the presenter (and any co presenter) should be written in the third person.
