OLABISI ONABANJO UNIVERSITY- OOU 17TH-21ST CONVOCATION CEREMONIES HOLDS 8-9TH OCTOBER

17TH-21ST CONVOCATION CEREMONIES FOR THE 2005/2006, 2006/2007, 2007/2008, 2009/2010 AND 2010/2011 GRADUANDS.

The Acting Vice-Chancellor, Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Professor Saburi Adejimi Adesanya, on behalf of Council, Senate and
Management, invites the general public to the Convocation Ceremonies for the award of Higher Degrees, Postgraduate Diplomas, First Degrees, Diplomas and Certificates.

The Ceremonies are scheduled for Monday 8th and Tuesday,9th October, 2012 at the Otunba Gbenga Lecture Theatre, Main Campus of the University, Ago-Iwoye.

CONVOCATION EVENTS:
Monday, 8th October, 2012

(a) Convocation Ceremonies for award of Certificates;
Diplomas and First Degrees in the Faculties of Arts, Law, Science, Basic Medical Sciences, Sciences, Clinical Sciences (Medicine) and Pharmacy. Colleges of Engineering and Environmental Studies as well as Agricultural Sciences.
Venue: Otunba Gbenga Daniel Lecture Theatre, Main Campus, OOU
Time: 10:00am

Tuesday,9th October, 2012
(a) Convocation Lecture with the topic “Restructuring The Shine To The Nigerian University” to be delivered by Prof. Peter Okebukola.
(b)Convocation Ceremonies for the award of Higher Degrees
(c)Convocation Ceremonies for the award of Certificates , Diplomas and First Degrees in the Faculties of Social and Management Science as well as Education
Venue: Otunba Gbenga Daniel Lecture Theatre, Main Campus, OOU
Time: 10:00am

INFORMATION TO GRADUANDS
a) Graduands are expected to be physically present to receive their awards or be admittedto their degrees
b) Each graduand is to pay a sum of Five Thousand Naira (N5,000)only for the Convocation Scroll/ Brochure and Ten Thousand (N10,000) Naira refundable deposit for the gown.
c) All graduands and members of the convocation are expected to join the academic procession and convocation rehearsal on Friday, 5th October, 2012 before the actual ceremonies ,scheduled for Monday, 8th and Tuesday 9th October, 2012.

INVITATION CARD
Each graduand will receive one invitation card for a guest to the ceremony. Collection of Invitation cards and gowns starts on Wednesday, October 3rd October, 2012. Graduands in the Faculties of Arts, Law, Social and Management Sciences and Education are to collect their gowns at their

Faculty Offices while those in the Faculties of Clinical Sciences, Basic Medical Sciences, College of Agricultural Sciences and College of Engineering and Environmental Studies willbe collecting theirs at the Directorate of Student Affairs, from the same date. ACADEMIC GOWNS
Graduands will hire academic gowns (scrolls and order of proceeding) at the points stated above by paying the specified fees through Bank Draft written in favour of OOU Bursar intoany of the following accounts;
i. United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc – 1012746779
ii. First Bank of Nigeria Plc – – 2011375386
iii. Wema Bank Plc – – – 0120519312

Graduands are to return the academic gowns on or before Friday 12th,October, 2012 at the points where they were originally collected while they are to state their Bank Account Numbers for the refundable deposit of N10, 000. Failure to return the gowns to the University after the deadline will attract a penalty fee of N5,000 per week

    What is the assurance that they will return the refundable 10,000 even if i submit the gown before the stated deadline.
