Latest reports suggest that the Estate Department of the Yobe state polytechnic has been burnt down as a reuslt of an attack by unidentified people on Monday evening in Damaturu, Yobe state.
The extent of the damage resulting from the blaze has not been revealed, though it was reported to be grave.
Residents are however expressing surprise that the attack against the school was successful especially as all access road to the institution are manned by security personnel.
We appeal to the government to safeguard our academic institutions, as they no longer appear safe following recent tragedies therein.
