ABIA STATE UNIVERSITY(ABSU)

The Abia state government, Abia state Nigeria, has once again raised the tuition fees of candidates to an alarming point in which, questions are needed to be asked about the ownership of the Institution, a PRIVATE of PUBLIC citadel?

It was reported yesterday that the governor of the state, Governor Theodore .A. Orji is contemplating an increase in the tuition fees of the abia state University(ABSU) students community which would equally affect both the new and existing students.

The report was finally confirmed, according to a staff of myschool, who reported that the New students are expected to smile to the bank with a massive N250,000 in cash to the ABSU’s accounts, while the old students are not left out as the would equally contribute their own quota of N280,000 to the development of the great Institution.

This went a long way in confirming the words of his counterpart, the former governor of Imo state, Dr Ikedi Ohakim, who in a statement mentioned that education is for the Rich.

This outrageous fees, we believe might introduce some kinds of protest within the University community, since it is not expected that the students would take it gladly, with open arms.

What is Your Opinion?
Is education in Nigeria really for the Rich?
