The students of the Obafemi Awolowo University, on her matriculation anniversary, were all suprised to see a man in his early 70, at the grand event.
According to Ayodele, the students presumed that the man as usual was a father to one of the matriculants, but alas, history was made when he stepped up to take his maticulation oath.
The man apparently has become the oldest person to gain admission as an undergraduate in a Nigerian University.
Col Layiwola Adekanmu Adegunju as he is known is a retired army officer who was admitted by the institution to study LAW. The man(wonder if its right to brand him a JAMBITE) is a father of four children as well as a grandfather and is an indigene of Erunmu in Ibadan, Oyo state.
The VC of the Institution, Professor Omole, while defending the act, insisted that, Education was never limited by age, and only a dead person could stop learning.
Comment to tell us what you think about this, and how would you act if he is to be your room mate?
