>The management of the Ekiti state University, Ado-Ekiti, might observe a strike action/delay before they even set academic activities in motion if the news emanating from the institution happens to be true.
The speculated increase which according to tribune would see students paying as much as N191,000 has been denied by the governor of the state, Governor Fayenmi who explains that he takes no part and was not aware of the increase while he also maintains their commitment to making education better and affordable in the state.
The students of the institution has decided to protest against the increase in general Tuition fees across all departments of the institution. The protest as always might result in violent conducts as some defaulters would see it as an opportunity to steal and destroy things and would transform the otherwise, peaceful demonstration by the student into violent demonstration which will only lead to the temporary shutdown of the institution.
I would personally advise students to stand up boldly for their right as we students should not be taken for granted while in the process avoid any act of vandalism. Be careful and watchful.
I believe it would all come to a time when VNTI would declare a day strike action across all institutions in support of a brother institution.
